Connect Donates Over 300 Pieces of Professional Clothing to Support Clifton Hunter High School Students

Connect, the not-for-profit founded by Nova Recruitment, that supports the Cayman community to achieve career success, proudly partnered with Clifton Hunter High School (CHHS) last month for a successful two-day clothing drive that provided over 300 pieces of professional attire to Year 10 students preparing for their one-week work experience.

Hannah Jackson, Board Member at Clifton Hunter ready to process students and get them fitted for success.

Held on the CHHS campus, the drive supported more than 58 students as they selected workplace-ready outfits, helping to ease the transition from classroom to corporate. Two dedicated team members from Connect, career consultant Giannie McLaughlin and board member Hannah Jackson, were on site assisting students with confidence and care.

“It wasn’t just fitting clothes, it was an educational experience for them,” said Sharon Thompson, Deputy Principal at CHHS. “That’s part of the learning that we want them to have, so thank you, Connect by Nova, for bridging that gap between the school and the workplace.”

“I watched with delight and excitement as I saw Ms. Giannie and Ms. Hannah interact with the students,” added Villence Buchanan, Principal of CHHS. “They helped each student find their best and most stylish work clothes, making it all so easy. This initiative helps both students and their parents, and we’re thankful to Connect by Nova for making it happen.”

On behalf of Connect, Giannie expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed:

“We’re so pleased to have played a part in supporting these young students at such an important stage in their growth. At Connect, we recognise that not everyone has access to workplace suitable clothing, so not only was this a charitable effort but also an education piece around workplace expectations, which is crucial for this age group. A huge thank-you to everyone who donated clothing and helped make this drive possible.”

This initiative marks another step in Connect ongoing commitment to empowering Cayman’s youth and supporting pathways to meaningful employment and personal development.
